I knew this would happen eventually. Not one, but both kids are sick. Sore throat, headaches, coughing, and fatigue. And I am not supposed to be around anyone sick…especially someone who has a cough. Nick is trying to be the enforcer of “stay away from mom” and it is harder than you would think to avoid people in your own home. We are trying to not get close to one another. Nick has everyone using hand sanitizer frequently. It is hard on me being mom and not being able to take care of my kids when they are sick. I know that they are teenagers now and don’t require the same level of care as they did when they were younger, but the mom in me still wants to be able to give them a comforting hug and touch their head to see if they feel warm…… Simple things. I hope they are feeling better before I am scheduled for chemo again on Thursday.
And speaking of Thursday…..Beckie will turn 17! Where has the time gone? I can still vividly recall being pregnant with her and going to the hospital in labor at midnight in the middle of an ice storm in Pennsylvania. What fun that drive was!! And the end result of 10 hours of labor was a beautiful 7lb 12 ounce baby girl that we named Rebecca Lynn Folino or “Beckie” as she chose to be called once she started middle school. She has turned into a beautiful, caring, smart young lady.
